Japan Study 50th Anniversary Conference

 

The Future of East Asian Studies at Liberal Arts CollegesOctober 5 - 7, 2012 at Earlham College

 

The Conference provides faculty and administrators from GLCA, ACM, and invited colleges an opportunity to share their expertise in developing and sustaining an East Asian presence on liberal arts colleges. Participants will come together for interactive sessions on innovations, new initiatives, and changing conditions related to the future of East Asian Studies.

The conference will begin Friday afternoon with an open meeting and networking opportunities for Japan Study Campus Representatives. The keynote address will be given on Friday evening by OKAMURA Yoshifumi, Consul General of Japan at Chicago, followed by a welcome dinner and address (TBA). On Saturday evening, there will be a koto performance by New York-based Yumi Kurosawa.

Funding for Participants - A subsidy for travel and lodging will be provided through grants from the GLCA Endowment for the Study of Japan and the Japan Study Program at Earlham College.
