The request is for support for three faculty members from Kalamazoo, Hope, and DePauw to collaboratively develop a course template with the theme of "border pedagogies/border epistemologies". The template will include common readings, viewings, and assignments. Each of the instructors will then develop their own course from the template. They plan to bring the courses together by having a common blog where all students post journal entries and select assignments and plan to include student reading of one another's work among the course assignments. They will also give guest lectures in each other's course via videoconferencing. The work plan includes meetings in the spring and summer, followed by virtual meetings. Project outcomes ? an annotated bibliography, the course template, and assignments ? will be shared via a website and short "frameworks" paper/introduction focused on teaching border pedagogies.
