During the summer of 2012, I hope to be learning felting processes and related textile arts through workshops with master textile artists. I am a metalsmith; my work has taken a completely new direction into the world of fiber arts. My goal is to attain a level of mastery in accordance with the level of craftsmanship of my metalwork. I would study with Dutch artist Martien Van Zuilen, creating small scale refined forms to be used in combination with fabricated metal elements. In addition, I would learn her unique process of woven felt. I would then study with renowned felter Jorie Johnson, designing seamless felts and creating a finished work for the body in the workshop.
