GLCA Center for Teaching and Learning Receives Teagle Grant

The Great Lakes Colleges Association has received a grant of $300,000 from the Teagle Foundation to establish a GLCA Consortial Center for Teaching and Learning. This consortial center will exist not as a physical place but as a community of faculty members with demonstrated commitment to improving teaching and learning across all of GLCA's colleges.  This Center will stimulate thinking and foster new approaches to teaching undergraduates by providing access to resources in support of effective pedagogy beyond what any single college can offer. It will also encourage a more substantial focus on effective liberal arts education by providing opportunities for faculty members of a given college to present and engage with colleagues of other institutions in consortial events hosted in both digital and face-to-face venues.  This GLCA Center for Teaching and Learning will contribute substantially to the professional development of faculty members, creating a community of practice focused on effective teaching and learning across multiple colleges and academic disciplines.
